Our Review Researched from product specs and verified buyer feedback

Most phones under ₹30,000 have one good camera and a couple of filler lenses. The CMF Phone 2 Pro 5G (from Nothing's sub-brand CMF) is different: it has three real cameras, including a 50MP 2x telephoto for zoomed portraits, which is rare at this price. Add a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with 3,000 nits peak, clean Nothing OS and 3 years of Android updates, and you get a distinctive phone. The 8GB/128GB version is listed at ₹28,998 on Amazon (MRP ₹29,999), with the Amazon's Choice badge and a 4.3★ rating from 620+ buyers. It is the #9 pick in our Best Phones Under ₹30,000 list.

WHO IT'S FOR

This phone suits people who love taking photos of friends, food and travel, especially portraits and zoomed shots, and who want a phone that looks different from the usual glass slabs. It is less suited to heavy gamers or people who need two-day battery life.

DESIGN AND BUILD

CMF phones have a playful, customisable design, with a modular back that supports CMF accessories (per launch coverage). Amazon lists dimensions of about 16.4 x 7.8 x 0.8 cm. Water protection is the weak point: IP54, which covers splashes and dust only. Most rivals in this list offer IP64 or better, and several offer IP68/IP69.

DISPLAY

The 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED (2392 x 1080) runs at 120Hz with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness (per launch coverage). Colours and contrast are good, and it is clearly better than the LCD screens on the vivo, iQOO, OnePlus and Moto G phones in this list. It is not as sharp as the 1.5K panels on the Motorola Edge phones and the realme P4 Power.

PERFORMANCE

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro (2.5GHz) handles daily apps, social media and casual gaming smoothly. Amazon's table just says "Others"; launch coverage and the Amazon bullets confirm the chip. It is a step below the Dimensity 7400 chips used in several rivals here. You get 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card.

CAMERAS

This is the highlight. The rear setup is a 50MP main camera, a 50MP 2x telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide. The telephoto lets you take sharper zoomed and portrait shots than phones that simply crop digitally. The front camera is 16MP, and rear video goes up to 4K at 30fps. On paper, it is the most versatile rear camera set in this list, though the main sensor does not have the OIS that the Motorola Edge phones and realme P4 Power offer (no OIS is listed on Amazon).

BATTERY AND CHARGING

The 5,000mAh battery is the smallest in this list, joint with the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. Expect a full day for normal use, but not much more. 33W charging is slow by today's standards. Launch coverage says the India box includes the 33W charger and a case; the Amazon listing does not show box contents, so check when you order.

SOFTWARE AND UPDATES

It launched with Nothing OS 3.2 on Android 15, which is clean, fast and free of junk apps. CMF promises 3 major Android updates and 6 years of security patches (per launch coverage), one of the better promises here.

PROS

CONS AND THINGS TO KNOW

  • ✗5,000mAh battery and 33W charging, weakest here
  • ✗IP54 only, splash protection
  • ✗Dimensity 7300 Pro is a step behind the 7400-class chips
  • ✗Speaker setup not confirmed on the listing
  • ✗Launched in 2025 at ₹18,999; today's Amazon price is far higher

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite at ₹28,999 has the same chip and battery, adds OIS to the main camera, but swaps the telephoto for a 2MP macro and has a mono speaker. The Redmi Note 15 5G at ₹28,999 has a 108MP OIS camera, stereo speakers and IP65/66. The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion at ₹28,749 offers OIS, 12GB/256GB and IP69.

WHO SHOULD SKIP IT

Skip it if you need long battery life, fast charging, or real water protection.

VALUE FOR MONEY

At ₹28,998, the camera system and clean software are appealing, but the price is about ₹10,000 above launch, and the battery, charging and water protection now trail most rivals. It makes sense mainly if you value the telephoto camera.

VERDICT

Buy the CMF Phone 2 Pro 5G if you want a telephoto camera and clean software under ₹30,000. Skip it if battery life and durability matter more; at this price, watch for a drop before buying.
