Our Review Researched from product specs and listings

Want one machine that can bake, grill, air fry style and even roast a chicken on a spit, without crossing ₹15,000? The Godrej 30L Convection Microwave (model GME 530 CR1 SZ) packs the most features we found in this budget. It was ₹13,490 on amazon.in when we checked (MRP ₹18,900), in stock and shipped by Amazon. It ranks #1 in our Best Microwave Ovens Under ₹15,000 list with an overall score of 8.7/10.

WHO IT'S FOR

Families of four to six who want to replace an OTG as well as a microwave, and who like tikkas, barbeque and baking at home. If you mostly reheat food and boil milk, this is more machine than you need.

WHAT A CONVECTION MICROWAVE ADDS

A solo microwave only reheats, defrosts and does simple cooking. A grill model adds a top heater for browning and crisping. A convection microwave adds a heater and a fan, so it can also bake cakes, bread and pizza and roast like a small OTG, and usually grill too. Between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000 most good options are convection models, which is why most of our list is convection. If you never bake, a good solo microwave saves you money and counter space.

CAPACITY AND TYPE

At 30 litres it is the biggest convection model in this list, and Godrej says it suits 4–6 members. Besides microwave, grill and convection, it has a motorised 360° rotisserie for even roasting and Dual Grill Technology, with heaters at the top and back (an elementary heater plus a quartz heater). That is the widest set of cooking modes here, so type scores 10.0/10 and capacity 9.5/10.

POWER

Here the listing contradicts itself. One bullet says 800W, another bullet and the spec table say 900W, and the number of microwave power levels is not stated. We scored power a cautious 6.5/10. Expect normal reheating speed for this class either way.

MENUS AND CONTROLS

The title lists 375 Instacook menus, the most in this list, with programs for paneer, ghee and curd, oil-free recipes, Indian breads, healthy fermentation, barbeque, desserts and soups, plus a Healthy Air Fry mode. Note that "air fry" here is a preset grill and convection program, not a separate fryer basket. Controls are an LED display with touch keypad, 4-step cooking, express cooking and the Godrej Instachef app for recipes. Menus score 10.0/10 and controls 8.5/10.

CLEANING AND SAFETY

The cavity is stainless steel, with steam clean and a deodoriser function. Steel suits grill and convection use and does not peel like coatings, but it shows stains, so wipe it after use. Child lock and dual thermal protection are listed. Cleaning scores 8.5/10 and safety 8.0/10.

ACCESSORIES

The bullets list a glass turntable, roller ring and grill stand, and the spec table adds a crusty plate and the rotisserie with handle. That is the richest box in this list: 9.5/10.

WARRANTY

The title and spec table promise a 5-year free comprehensive warranty (for purchases from 1 April 2026, "until withdrawn" by Godrej), but one bullet still says 1 year on the oven and 3 years on the magnetron. Keep your invoice and check the warranty card when it arrives. We scored 9.0/10 because of this conflict.

WHAT SIZE DO YOU NEED?

As a rough guide, 20–23 litres suits one to three people, while 25–30 litres fits a bigger casserole or cake tin and suits a family of four to six. Convection models are heavy (often 15–18 kg) and wide, so measure your counter and leave a few centimetres free at the back and sides for ventilation.

LISTING NOTES

The spec table weight of 16.6 kg and the outer size of 53.5 cm wide × 44.9 cm deep × 28.2 cm high mean it needs a deep counter. Value scores 7.5/10: lots of features for the money, with solid but not top owner feedback.

PROS

  • ✓Rotisserie and top + back dual grill
  • ✓375 Instacook menus, steam clean, deodoriser

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The Panasonic 27L Convection (₹12,990) is cheaper and better rated, with 5 years on the magnetron, but only 101 menus and no rotisserie.

VERDICT

The Godrej 30L is the most complete convection microwave under ₹15,000. Buy it if you want to bake, grill and roast in one machine and have the counter space.
