WHAT A CONVECTION MICROWAVE ADDS

A solo microwave only reheats, defrosts and does simple cooking. A grill model adds a top heater for browning and crisping. A convection microwave adds a heater and a fan, so it can also bake cakes, bread and pizza and roast like a small OTG, and usually grill too. TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

Use the wire rack only in grill or convection mode. Preheat before baking and keep cakes in tins that fit the 23-litre cavity with room to rotate. Use a lower power level for milk and dal to stop boiling over.

The Panasonic 23L is the best-value convection microwave under ₹15,000. Buy it if you want a trusted, well-reviewed baker and grill at a sensible price and do not need a huge cavity.
