Our Review Researched from product specs and verified buyer feedback

Looking for a speaker you can clip to a bag, take into the shower and even drop in the pool? The Tribit PocketGo is a 7W pocket speaker with an IP68 rating, a floating design and a claimed 20-hour battery, listed at ₹2,064 on amazon.in (MRP ₹3,999). When we checked it had 4.4★ from 525 ratings, an Amazon's Choice badge and 500+ bought in the past month, sold by Tribit India and shipped by Amazon. It ranks #3 in our Best Bluetooth Speakers Under ₹3,000 list with an overall score of 7.4/10, and it is the toughest and lightest speaker here after the JBL.

WHO IT'S FOR

Cyclists, trekkers, beach-goers, swimmers and anyone who wants music in the bathroom. It is for personal listening and small spaces, not for parties.

SOUND AND BASS

Amazon lists 45mm neodymium drivers, 7W of output and a 2.0 channel layout. It has a strong 4.4★ average, but a speaker this small cannot move much air, so bass is light compared with the larger picks. Scores: 6.5/10 for sound and 5.5/10 for bass. We do not run lab tests, so sound and bass are judged from the hardware (drivers, passive radiators, stereo or mono), brand specs and Amazon ratings.

LOUDNESS

At 7W it is one of the quieter speakers in this list, louder than the 4.2W JBL Go 3 but well below the 12–32W models. It is fine for a bathroom, a tent or a desk. Score: 4.5/10.

BATTERY

Amazon lists a 2400mAh battery and up to 20 hours of playback, which is excellent for something this small, and the second-longest claim in this list after the Tribit XSound Go. The listing does not state the volume level for that figure or the charging time, so expect less at high volume. Score: 9.0/10.

CONNECTIVITY

Bluetooth plus a TF (microSD) card slot, per the Amazon spec table. The search title mentions Bluetooth 6.0, but the product page spec table does not state a version, so we do not count on it. There is no AUX input listed. Score: 6.0/10.

WATER RESISTANCE AND BUILD

This is where it wins. IP68 means it is both dust-tight and protected against being under water for longer than IPX7 allows, and Tribit says it floats. The listing also claims 1.22-metre drop resistance tested by SGS. It weighs just 220g and measures about 10.8 x 4.2 x 8.1 cm, small enough for a cup holder or a backpack strap. Scores: 10.0/10 for water and dust resistance, the best here, 9.5/10 for portability and 8.5/10 for build.

FEATURES

  • •TWS pairing with a second PocketGo for stereo, a built-in mic for calls and app control according to the spec table. Score: 6.5/10.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

Clip it high up, such as on a backpack strap or a shower rail, so the sound reaches your ears instead of the floor. Make sure every port cover is closed before it goes in water. Load a microSD card with songs for treks where your phone needs to save battery.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX

  • •The speaker, a charging cable and a user manual, per Amazon. No adaptor. Warranty is 1 year.

PROS

  • ✓IP68 dust and water protection, and it floats
  • ✓Only 220g, clips on and fits a cup holder
  • ✓Up to 20 hours of playback from 2400mAh
  • ✓4.4★ from 525 ratings, sold by Tribit India
  • ✓TWS, mic and microSD playback

CONS AND THINGS TO KNOW

  • ✗7W is too quiet for parties
  • ✗Light bass because of its small size
  • ✗Bluetooth version not stated on the product page
  • ✗Only 525 ratings so far

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The JBL Go 3 (₹2,999) is the famous brand and has far more ratings, but it has only a 5-hour battery and is 4.2W. The Sony SRS-XB100 (₹2,489) is IP67, has a passive radiator and a 16-hour battery, but does not float and costs more. If you want more sound and are fine with a bigger speaker, the Tribit StormBox Mini+ is ₹130 more.

VALUE FOR MONEY

₹2,064 for IP68, a floating body and a 20-hour claim in a 220g speaker: 8.0/10.

VERDICT

The Tribit PocketGo is the toughest pocket speaker under ₹3,000. Buy it for the shower, the pool or the trail. Skip it if you want room-filling sound; pick the StormBox Mini+ or a boAt Stone instead.
