ASUS Chromebook CM1505 15.6" FHD, ₹28,990

If you are shopping for the best laptop under ₹30,000 in India this October 2026, start by deciding which operating system you can live with. The ASUS Chromebook CM1505 is ranked #4 in our Best Laptops Under ₹30,000 list with an overall score of 7.7/10. It is listed at ₹28,990 (MRP ₹33,990) on amazon.in and shows 3.5★ from 2 ratings. Below is an honest breakdown from listed specs only — we do not invent benchmarks.

WHO IT'S FOR

Buyers who want Chrome OS specifically, at or under ₹30,000, and whose daily work matches what this machine’s chip and RAM can do. Key listed highlights: MediaTek Kompanio 540 (up to 2.6 GHz), integrated Arm Mali; 4GB LPDDR5X / 128GB eMMC (bullet; tech table also says SSD); 15.6" FHD anti-glare, 1920×1080, 300 nits, 60Hz. If those lines match your school, WFH or browsing needs, keep reading. If you need a different OS family, jump to another rank in this list.

DESIGN AND BUILD

1.49 kg; Fabric Blue In this budget almost every chassis is plastic; judge by weight, keyboard features and whether you will carry it daily. Special notes from the listing: treat the published weight as a guide and check the colour/SKU you add to cart.

DISPLAY

15.6" FHD anti-glare, 1920×1080, 300 nits, 60Hz. Compare that with HD/WXGA Windows Celerons and the brighter 300-nit FHD ASUS Chromebook panels in this same Top 10. Brightness, resolution and size matter more at ₹30k than marketing adjectives.

PERFORMANCE

Processor and graphics: MediaTek Kompanio 540 (up to 2.6 GHz), integrated Arm Mali. Memory and storage: 4GB LPDDR5X / 128GB eMMC (bullet; tech table also says SSD). Relative to this list, our scorecard gives it cpu 7.5, gpu 7.0, memory 5.5 and storage 6.5 out of 10. That is a comparison against the other nine laptops here, not against a ₹60,000 Ryzen 5 machine. Expect browser work, video calls and media to track those scores; do not expect gaming-laptop behaviour.

BATTERY

50Wh, 3-cell (hours not listed) Our battery score for this model is 7.5/10 within the set. Real runtime depends on brightness and video calls.

SOFTWARE

Operating system: Chrome OS. Windows models can run classic desktop installers and (on Lenovo) often ship with MS Office. ChromeOS is browser-first with automatic updates and Android apps on many models. PrimeOS is Android 15 with a laptop desktop layer and Play Store apps. Pick the ecosystem you already use.

PORTS & CONNECTIVITY

Standout layout: 1× USB-A 3.2, 2× USB-C 3.2 with display/PD, HDMI 1.4 and 3.5mm. This is the easiest Chromebook here to drive an external monitor without dongles. Listed ports summary: 1× USB-A 3.2, 2× USB-C 3.2 (display/PD), HDMI 1.4, 3.5mm.

WEBCAM, AUDIO & THERMALS

Webcam/audio from the listing: 1080p HD camera with privacy shutter. Our webcam/audio score is 8.5/10 and thermals 8.0/10 (relative guesses from form factor and listed cooling cues — not lab noise measurements).

WARRANTY & SERVICE

ASUS lists 1-year global + onsite domestic (register to activate). That is one of the stronger warranty notes in this Top 10. Spec line: 1-year global + onsite domestic (ASUS; register to activate). Warranty score 8.5/10.

PROS

15.6" FHD at 300 nits — brightest big screen here
Best port set: HDMI + dual USB-C PD/display
ASUS 1-year global + onsite warranty

CONS AND THINGS TO KNOW

Only 4GB RAM
128GB eMMC (not a fast NVMe SSD)
ChromeOS — no classic Windows installers

LISTING NOTES

STORAGE: bullet says 128G eMMC; Hard Disk Description in tech table says SSD.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

Closest alternatives in our ranking include the Primebook 2 Neo (8GB/128GB) (#3, ₹23,990, score 7.8), the ASUS Chromebook CM1405 (#5, ₹20,990, score 7.4) and the Primebook 2 Max (8GB/256GB) (#2, ₹29,989, score 8.2). Pick CM1505 over CM1405 for the 15.6-inch FHD 300-nit panel and 128GB storage. Pick a Primebook if you want 8GB RAM and Android apps instead of ChromeOS. Overall score 7.7 places it at #4 of 10.

WHO SHOULD SKIP IT

Skip this laptop if you need a different OS than Chrome OS, if the RAM/storage line is too small for your files, or if you were hoping for a mid-range Intel Core i5 / Ryzen 5 Windows laptop — those sit above ₹30,000 on amazon.in today.
