Primebook 3 Max Genio 720, 2K Webcam and 60Wh, ₹33,990

The Primebook 3 Max (2026) is the newest model from Indian brand Primebook and the most interesting non-Windows laptop under ₹50,000. It is listed on amazon.in at ₹33,990 (MRP ₹59,990) and has 4.7★ from 11 ratings. It ranks #6 in our Best Laptops Under ₹50,000 list with a score of 6.3/10. The important thing to know first: it runs PrimeOS (Android-based), not Windows. Specs below are from Primebook's Amazon listing; we have not tested it.

WHO IT'S FOR

School and college students, first-time laptop buyers and anyone whose day is browser, Google Docs, WPS Office, YouTube and online classes, and who wants long battery life and a big screen while saving about ₹13,000–₹16,000 versus the Windows laptops here. Not for people who need Windows-only software such as full Microsoft Office desktop apps, Tally (except via Primebook's paid cloud PC) or most PC games.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

It uses a MediaTek Genio 720 (MT8391) octa-core chip boosting up to 2.6GHz, with an 8th-gen NPU for on-device AI features. This is a big step up from the Helio G99 in the older Primebook 2 range. It is still an ARM tablet-class processor, so heavy multitasking is weaker than on the Intel and AMD Windows laptops in this list. (Amazon's spec table oddly lists Mali-G57 graphics and "MediaTek Helio"; the title and bullets say Genio 720, which we treat as correct.)

RAM AND STORAGE

8GB LPDDR5 RAM (not upgradable) and 128GB UFS storage, expandable with a microSD card up to 1TB. 128GB is the smallest internal storage in this list, so plan on a microSD card for media.

SOFTWARE

PrimeOS runs Android apps from the Play Store in a desktop-style interface and, per Primebook, select Linux apps such as VS Code and WPS Office. It also bundles PrimeAGNT AI (5,000 credits included, top-ups from ₹50) and an optional PrimeX Cloud PC subscription from ₹299/month for Windows-style apps. Budget for those extras if you need them.

DISPLAY

A 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare screen with 250 nits, 60Hz and a 180° hinge. A proper IPS panel, better than the TN screens on the two Acer Aspire Lite laptops.

BATTERY AND CHARGING

A 60.3Wh battery with up to 12 hours claimed, plus 36W fast charging (0–80%). This is one of the longest-lasting laptops in this list.

BUILD, PORTS, WEBCAM AND AUDIO

1.6kg. Amazon lists 4 USB ports including USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB Type-C, a microSD slot and a 3.5mm jack, with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. The 2K 30fps webcam with privacy shutter is the best camera here, backed by dual noise-cancelling mics and 2 x 2W stereo speakers.

WARRANTY

1 year manufacturer warranty, with walk-in service centres only in limited pincodes. Check your pincode coverage before buying.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The Primebook 2 Pro (₹26,989) is ₹7,000 cheaper with a longer claimed battery life and over 1,000 ratings, but it has an older Helio G99 chip and a smaller 14.1-inch screen. For Windows, the HP 15 (Ryzen 3 7320U) at ₹47,190 is the safe step up.

WHO SHOULD SKIP IT

Anyone who needs Windows software (Tally desktop, AutoCAD, full Microsoft Office desktop apps, most PC games), and buyers who want a long track record of reviews before spending ₹34,000.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Excellent hardware for ₹34,000 if PrimeOS fits your needs: 6.5/10 (scored lower only because its software limits what you can run).

VERDICT

The best non-Windows laptop under ₹50,000 for students. Make sure the apps you need run on Android or PrimeOS first. Check the live price before you buy.
