HP 255 G10 Ryzen 3 7335U, 16GB DDR5 RAM, ₹57,350

The HP 255 G10 with an AMD Ryzen 3 7335U and 16GB DDR5 is one of the best-rated laptops in this budget: 4.3★ from 970 ratings on amazon.in. It is listed at ₹57,350 (MRP ₹99,990, an inflated reference price) and ranks #9 in our Best Laptops Under ₹60,000 list with 6.1/10. Buyers like it, but on paper it gives you less than rivals at the same price: a 4-core chip, a sparse and contradictory listing, and fewer ports. Details are from the Amazon listing, cross-checked against HP's published 255 G10 specifications.

WHO IT'S FOR

Home and small-office users who want a simple, well-reviewed HP business laptop with 16GB RAM for browsing, Office, online classes and video calls. It also suits parents buying a family laptop who care more about a long track record of happy buyers than about the last bit of speed. Note that Office is not included, so budget for it (or use the free web version) if you need it.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

The Ryzen 3 7335U has 4 cores and 8 threads, up to about 4.3GHz (Zen 3+). It is smooth for everyday work and noticeably better than older Ryzen 3 chips, but it has two fewer cores than the Ryzen 5 laptops above it, so heavy multitasking and coding builds are slower. Its AMD Radeon 660M-class graphics are among the better integrated graphics in this list, fine for video and light games. The title's claim that it "beats Intel i5-1135G7" is the seller's marketing, not our test.

RAM AND STORAGE

16GB DDR5 and a 512GB SSD. The listing contradicts itself on the maximum: the bullets say "up to 64GB", the table says 16GB maximum. HP's 255 G10 uses SODIMM slots, but we could not confirm the slot layout for this exact unit, so treat 16GB as what you get.

DISPLAY

A 15.6-inch Full HD LED-backlit screen at 60Hz. The listing does not give the panel type or brightness, so expect a basic budget panel.

BATTERY

Amazon's table says "65 Kilowatt Hours", which is impossible. HP's own spec sheet for the 255 G10 lists a 41Wh 3-cell battery, so assume 41Wh. Amazon claims up to 10 hours; expect less in real use.

BUILD, KEYBOARD AND PORTS

About 1.5kg (listing; HP quotes about 1.52kg). The keyboard is a standard US layout with a numeric keypad; no backlight is listed. The listing names Ethernet, HDMI, SD card and USB-C, but also says only "2 total USB ports", and HP's 255 G10 spec sheet shows no Ethernet port and a data-only USB-C. Wireless: one field says "Wi-Fi 6 RTL8821CE 802.11ac (1x1)" (that Realtek card is actually Wi-Fi 5) with Bluetooth 4.2, another says 802.11ax. Expect Wi-Fi 5.

WEBCAM, WARRANTY AND SOFTWARE

Webcam: yes, resolution not stated. Windows 11, no Office listed. 1-year manufacturer warranty.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

For ₹640 more, the Dell 15 (16GB) adds a 120Hz IPS screen, Office, Wi-Fi 6 and onsite service. For ₹3,360 less, the Acer Aspire 3 14 gives you 16GB upgradable RAM, an IPS screen and a 2MP webcam.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Happy buyers and 16GB RAM, but the spec sheet is thin for ₹57,350: 6.5/10.

VERDICT

A dependable, well-reviewed choice, but not the best spec for the money. Buy it if you trust the rating history; otherwise the Dell 15 or Acer Aspire 3 picks give more for similar money.
