Hate charging your earbuds? The boAt Nirvana Ion ANC claims up to 120 hours of total playback and an unusual 24 hours from the buds alone on one charge, and it still adds 32dB active noise cancellation. It is listed at ₹1,799 (MRP ₹9,990), carries the Amazon's Choice badge and a 4.0★ rating from 3,400+ buyers, and it is the #6 pick in our Best Earbuds Under ₹2,000 list.
WHO IT'S FOR
The Nirvana Ion ANC is for travellers, long-distance commuters and anyone who forgets to charge gadgets. If you want ANC for a long train or bus journey and you do not want to think about the battery for a week or more, this is the pair to look at.
DESIGN AND FIT
boAt calls the design patented and compact. Each bud weighs about 4.9 grams, and the case about 45.5 grams, per boAt's spec sheet. In-ear detection pauses music when you take a bud out, a feature only a few earbuds in our list have. Water resistance is IPX4, which covers sweat and light splashes but is the lowest rating here (shared with the realme T200 Lite).
SOUND
boAt uses 10mm dynamic drivers with Crystal Bionic Sound powered by a HiFi DSP. You get two EQ modes: boAt Signature (bass-heavy) and boAt Balanced. The drivers are the smallest in our list, so on paper it will not hit as hard as the 12.4mm realme or 13mm GOBOULT models, but the balanced mode is useful if you listen to podcasts or vocals.
NOISE CANCELLATION
ANC is rated at up to 32dB, with an ambient (transparency) mode to hear your surroundings. That is a clear step up from the 25dB realme T200x, but well below the 46–48dB of the realme T310 and boAt Prime 702 ANC. Expect it to reduce engine and fan noise well; voices and sharp sounds will still get through.
CALL QUALITY
Four mics with ENx noise reduction handle calls. That is on par with most of the list, behind only the six-mic T310 and Prime 702.
BATTERY
This is the headline. boAt claims 120 hours total with ANC off (24 hours per charge plus 96 hours from the case) and 100 hours with ANC on (20 hours per charge), at 60% volume. Only the Blaupunkt BTW300 Xtreme claims more in total (150H), and among the models here that list a per-charge figure, the next best is 12 hours (OnePlus Nord Buds 3r), so 20–24 hours per charge really matters on long flights. The case has a 600mAh battery and charges over USB-C in about 2.5 hours.
GAMING AND CONNECTIVITY
This is the weak area. boAt's own spec page lists Bluetooth 5.2, while the Amazon listing says 5.3; either way it is older than the 5.4–6.1 on most rivals. Dual-device pairing is supported. BEAST Mode gives 60ms latency, slower than the 45–50ms models, though fine for casual games and video.
APP AND FEATURES
- •The Amazon title says "App Support", but boAt's manual-based spec listings say there is no app, and features are controlled by touch (ANC/ambient toggle, EQ switch, BEAST Mode). We treated app support as unconfirmed and scored features conservatively.
PROS
- ✓120H total battery and 24H per charge (100H / 20H with ANC on)
- ✓32dB ANC with ambient mode
- ✓In-ear detection for auto pause/play
- ✓4-mic ENx call noise reduction
- ✓Dual-device pairing
CONS AND THINGS TO KNOW
- ✗Older Bluetooth (5.2 per boAt; Amazon says 5.3)
- ✗60ms latency is slower than most rivals
- ✗IPX4 only, the lowest rating here
- ✗10mm drivers, the smallest in the list
- ✗App support is claimed in the title but not confirmed by boAt's specs
- ✗MRP of ₹9,990 makes the "83% off" look bigger than it really is; judge it on the ₹1,799 price
HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE
At the same ₹1,799, the boAt Airdopes Prime 702 ANC has much stronger ANC, six mics and Bluetooth 6.0, but less than half the battery (50H). The Blaupunkt BTW300 Xtreme at ₹1,389 has even more total battery (150H) but no ANC and no app. The realme Buds T200x at ₹1,599 has IP55 and 45ms latency, but only 48H battery and weaker ANC.
WHO SHOULD SKIP IT
Skip it if you game competitively, need strong ANC for loud environments, or work out hard and want IP55 or better.
VALUE FOR MONEY
At ₹1,799, you are paying for battery life plus decent ANC. If that is your priority, it is good value; if you want the newest tech, other picks here give more.
VERDICT
Buy the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC if you want the longest per-charge battery under ₹2,000 with useful ANC. Skip it if you want the latest Bluetooth or low latency for gaming. Check the live Amazon price before you buy.
