Our Review Researched from product specs and verified buyer feedback

Need the biggest IFB solo microwave you can get under ₹10,000? The IFB 25L Solo Microwave (model 25PM2S) gives you 25 litres, 900W and 61 auto-cook menus. It was ₹9,490 when we checked (MRP ₹9,590), with 4.3★ from 1,794 ratings and 100+ bought in the past month, and it ships from Amazon. It ranks #4 in our Best Microwave Ovens Under ₹10,000 list with an overall score of 7.3/10.

WHO IT'S FOR

Larger families who reheat big dishes and casseroles, and want IFB's longer magnetron cover, but do not need grilling or baking.

SOLO, GRILL OR CONVECTION?

A solo microwave only uses microwaves: it reheats, defrosts, boils milk, makes tea and cooks simple dishes like dal, khichdi, poha and steamed vegetables. A grill microwave adds a heating element at the top, so it can also brown and crisp food such as paneer tikka, kebabs, toast and pizza. A convection microwave adds a fan and heater as well, so it can bake cakes and bread and roast like a small OTG. Under ₹10,000 most good options are solo, a few are grill, and convection models are rare. Buy for what you will really cook, not for the longest feature list.

WHAT SIZE DO YOU NEED?

As a rough guide, 20 litres suits one to three people and normal reheating, while 23–25 litres fits a full dinner plate or a bigger casserole more easily and suits a family of three to five. Check your counter space too: measure the width and depth, and leave a few centimetres free at the back and sides for ventilation.

CAPACITY

25 litres, the joint largest in this list with the Panasonic 25L and SHARP 25L. Outside it is 48.3 cm wide, 41.5 cm deep and 28.1 cm high, and it weighs 13.4 kg, so it needs a deeper counter than the 24L model. Capacity scores 8.0/10; type scores 5.0/10 (solo).

POWER

900W microwave output. IFB estimates about 11.3 units a month with 25 minutes of use a day, roughly ₹90 a month. The bullets mention "adjustable power levels" but do not say how many. Power scores 8.0/10.

AUTO-COOK MENUS AND CONTROLS

61 auto-cook recipes: cup meals, Chef's Secrets, pizza reheat, beverages, one-pot meals and desserts, plus mug meals and keep warm. One-touch "Daily Essentials" cover reheat, steam clean, disinfect, deodorize and power saving, with a timer, delay start, auto defrost, express cook and multi-stage cooking. Menus score 8.0/10 and controls 8.5/10.

CLEANING

Amazon lists a powder-coated cavity, with steam clean and deodorize programs. Cleaning scores 8.0/10.

SAFETY

Child lock, overheating protection and sensor-malfunction protection are listed, the most complete safety list here. Safety scores 9.0/10.

ACCESSORIES

The box lists only the oven, warranty card and user manual. No rack is listed. Accessories score 4.5/10.

WARRANTY

1 year on the microwave and 3 years on the magnetron and cavity. Warranty scores 7.5/10.

LISTING NOTES

The title says "Easy to use Jog dial & Buttons", but the bullets describe a touch keypad (membrane). Check the product photos before buying if you have a strong preference. The unit is made by Galanz in China for IFB and sold by Dawntech Electronics. Value scores 6.5/10: it costs ₹1,000 more than the IFB 24L for 1 extra litre and 8 fewer menus.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

Use the delay start to have milk or water warm when you wake up. For large dishes, stir halfway and let food stand for a minute after cooking so heat spreads evenly.

PROS

  • ✓25 litres and 900W
  • ✓61 auto menus, delay start, multi-stage cooking
  • ✓Child lock, overheat and sensor-malfunction protection

  • ✗Number of power levels not stated
  • ✗Jog dial vs touch keypad conflict on the listing
  • ✗Deep body: 41.5 cm

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The IFB 24L (₹8,490) has more menus (69), 10 power levels and better ratings (4.4★ from 3,289). The Panasonic 25L (₹7,990) matches the size and power, with 85 menus, for ₹1,500 less, but only a 1-year warranty.

VERDICT

Buy the IFB 25L if you need the extra space and want IFB's 3-year magnetron cover. Otherwise the IFB 24L is better value.
