Lenovo V15 G4 Ryzen 5 7520U, 16GB DDR5 and Office, ₹59,380

The Lenovo V15 G4 (AMN) with an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U is one of the most popular laptops in this price band: 4.0★ from 517 ratings, 500+ bought in the past month and #50 in Traditional Laptops on amazon.in. This version comes with 16GB DDR5, Windows 11 + Office 2024 and an Ethernet port, listed at ₹59,380 (MRP ₹65,900). It ranks #10 in our Best Laptops Under ₹60,000 list with 6.0/10, because the "Ryzen 5" badge hides an older, slower 4-core chip. Details are from the Amazon listing and Lenovo's PSREF sheet for the V15 G4 AMN (83CQ).

WHO IT'S FOR

Office and business users who want a no-nonsense 15.6-inch laptop with 16GB RAM, Office included, a wired Ethernet port and onsite service, and whose work is mostly email, documents, spreadsheets and video calls.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

Despite the name, the Ryzen 5 7520U has only 4 cores and 8 threads (up to 4.3GHz, 4MB L3 cache) and uses the older Zen 2 design. It is fine for Office, browsing and online classes, but it is the slowest processor in this list, behind even the Ryzen 3 7335U and the Core i3 chips in many tasks. Graphics are AMD Radeon 610M, the weakest integrated graphics here.

RAM AND STORAGE

16GB DDR5-5500 (per the listing) and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Lenovo's PSREF for the V15 G4 AMN lists the memory as soldered LPDDR5-5500 with no slots, so this 16GB cannot be upgraded. Amazon's table also says "SO-DIMM", which conflicts with Lenovo; we went with Lenovo. 16GB is plenty for this chip's level of work.

DISPLAY

A 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) anti-glare screen. Panel type and brightness are not given on Amazon; treat it as a basic office panel.

BATTERY

Amazon's battery field says "1 Watt Hours", which is an error. Lenovo's PSREF lists a 38Wh battery for most V15 G4 AMN models (some have 47Wh). Assume 38Wh; Amazon quotes up to 8.5 hours, which is optimistic.

BUILD, KEYBOARD AND PORTS

Plastic chassis with a chiclet keyboard and numeric keypad. Ports are a highlight: USB-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, 2x USB-A 5Gbps, HDMI 1.4b, Ethernet (RJ-45) and headset jack (per Lenovo). Wi-Fi 6; Bluetooth is listed as 5.1 (Lenovo's sheet says 5.3 on some models).

WEBCAM, WARRANTY AND SOFTWARE

HD webcam and Dolby Audio speakers. Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 2024 pre-installed. 1-year onsite warranty.

WHY IT IS STILL POPULAR

Many buyers want a laptop that works out of the box for office work: Windows, Office, enough RAM and a wired network port, from a known brand with onsite service. The V15 G4 delivers exactly that, which explains its sales. Our lower rank is about what else the same ₹59,000 can buy today, not about the laptop being bad.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

For ₹80 less, the Acer Aspire 3 (Ryzen 5 7430U, 16GB) has a true 6-core Ryzen 5, upgradable RAM, an IPS screen and a 55Wh battery. For about ₹900 less, the Lenovo V14 G5 (Core i5-13420H) has the same ports and onsite warranty with a far faster chip.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Office, 16GB and onsite service are useful, but ₹59,380 is too much for this processor: 5.0/10.

VERDICT

Choose it only if you want Office and Ethernet ready to go and your work is light. Otherwise, the Acer Aspire 3 Ryzen 5 or Lenovo V14 G5 give you much more speed for the same money.
