The Midea 24L Convection Microwave (model MMOP02XA-ECSEBK) is the only convection model we found in stock on amazon.in under ₹10,000. It was ₹9,990 when we checked (MRP ₹19,990), with 4.0★ from 30 ratings, an Amazon's Choice badge, 200+ bought in the past month, and it ships from Amazon. It ranks #1 in our Best Microwave Ovens Under ₹10,000 list with an overall score of 7.9/10, the highest here on listed features. The catch is the very small number of ratings, which we explain below.

WHO IT'S FOR

Families who want one appliance for reheating, grilling and occasional baking, and who would otherwise buy a solo microwave plus an OTG. If you only reheat food and make tea, a cheaper solo model from IFB or Panasonic in this list is enough.

SOLO, GRILL OR CONVECTION?

A solo microwave only uses microwaves: it reheats, defrosts, boils milk, makes tea and cooks simple dishes like dal, khichdi, poha and steamed vegetables. A grill microwave adds a heating element at the top, so it can also brown and crisp food such as paneer tikka, kebabs, toast and pizza. A convection microwave adds a fan and heater as well, so it can bake cakes and bread and roast like a small OTG. Microwave output is 800W, with 11 power levels, the most power settings listed in this list. Amazon lists power consumption as 1300W. Midea does not list the grill or convection wattage or the convection temperature range on this page, so we could not compare baking heat. Power scores 8.5/10.

AUTO-COOK MENUS AND CONTROLS

The title lists 232 auto-cook menus, by far the most here. The bullets mention presets for Indian dishes, breads, desserts, snacks, curries and global dishes, plus an Express Fry menu for things like tandoori chicken, kebabs, nuggets and baked fish. There are also ferment programs for curd, dosa, idli and appam batter, bread and naan dough, and a keep warm function. Note that "air fry" here means preset grill and convection programs, not a separate fryer basket. Controls are a touch pad with digital display and an eco mode. Menus score 10.0/10 and controls 8.0/10.

CLEANING

The cavity is listed as stainless steel. Steel reflects heat well and suits grill and convection use, but it shows stains and needs regular wiping. No steam-clean program is listed, so cleaning scores a middling 6.0/10.

Only 30 ratings is the big caution: this is a new listing and there is not enough owner feedback yet to judge long-term reliability or Midea's service network in your city. The ₹19,990 MRP makes the discount look huge, but the fairer comparison is other convection microwaves: the cheapest others we saw on amazon.in were the Panasonic 23L at ₹11,450 and the LG 21L at ₹12,740. At ₹9,990 it is right at our ₹10,000 limit, so any price rise pushes it out. Value scores 4.0/10 for these reasons.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

Use only microwave-safe glass or ceramic in microwave mode, and metal tins only in grill or convection mode on the racks. Preheat before baking. Run the grill empty for a few minutes the first time to burn off the new-appliance smell.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

The IFB 24L Solo (₹8,490) has far more owner feedback (4.4★ from 3,289) and 900W output, but it cannot grill or bake. The IFB 20L Grill, at the same price, grills but does not bake, and has a smaller 20L cavity.

VERDICT

On features, the Midea 24L Convection is the most capable microwave under ₹10,000. Buy it if you want baking and grilling in one box and are comfortable with a newer listing; if you only reheat and want a proven model, pick the IFB 24L instead.
