Primebook 2 Pro Helio G99 14.1" FHD, ₹26,989

If you are shopping for the best laptop under ₹30,000 in India this October 2026, start by deciding which operating system you can live with. The Primebook 2 Pro (8GB/128GB) is ranked #1 in our Best Laptops Under ₹30,000 list with an overall score of 8.3/10. It is listed at ₹26,989 (MRP ₹39,990) on amazon.in and shows 4.3★ from 1,001 ratings. Below is an honest breakdown from listed specs only — we do not invent benchmarks.

WHO IT'S FOR

Buyers who want Android 15-based PrimeOS 3.0 specifically, at or under ₹30,000, and whose daily work matches what this machine’s chip and RAM can do. Key listed highlights: MediaTek Helio G99 (up to 2.2 GHz), Mali-G57; 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 2.2 (microSD up to 1TB); 14.1" Full HD IPS anti-glare, 1920×1080, 250 nits, 60Hz. If those lines match your school, WFH or browsing needs, keep reading. If you need a different OS family, jump to another rank in this list.

DESIGN AND BUILD

1.38 kg; Gray; backlit keyboard In this budget almost every chassis is plastic; judge by weight, keyboard features and whether you will carry it daily. Special notes from the listing: treat the published weight as a guide and check the colour/SKU you add to cart.

DISPLAY

14.1" Full HD IPS anti-glare, 1920×1080, 250 nits, 60Hz. Compare that with HD/WXGA Windows Celerons and the brighter 300-nit FHD ASUS Chromebook panels in this same Top 10. Brightness, resolution and size matter more at ₹30k than marketing adjectives.

PERFORMANCE

Processor and graphics: MediaTek Helio G99 (up to 2.2 GHz), Mali-G57. Memory and storage: 8GB LPDDR4X / 128GB UFS 2.2 (microSD up to 1TB). Relative to this list, our scorecard gives it cpu 9.0, gpu 8.5, memory 8.5 and storage 7.0 out of 10. That is a comparison against the other nine laptops here, not against a ₹60,000 Ryzen 5 machine. Expect browser work, video calls and media to track those scores; do not expect gaming-laptop behaviour.

BATTERY

Up to 14 hours listed; 60.3Wh; 30W USB-C charger Our battery score for this model is 9.5/10 within the set. Real runtime depends on brightness and video calls.

SOFTWARE

Operating system: Android 15-based PrimeOS 3.0. Windows models can run classic desktop installers and (on Lenovo) often ship with MS Office. ChromeOS is browser-first with automatic updates and Android apps on many models. PrimeOS is Android 15 with a laptop desktop layer and Play Store apps. Pick the ecosystem you already use.

PORTS & CONNECTIVITY

The listing highlights two USB Type-A ports, USB Type-C for data and fast charging, a 3.5mm jack and microSD. That covers pendrives, a wired headset and storage expansion without a hub for most students. Listed ports summary: 2× USB-A, USB-C (data + charging), 3.5mm, microSD.

WEBCAM, AUDIO & THERMALS

Webcam/audio from the listing: 1080p 60fps front camera; dual mics; dual stereo speakers. Our webcam/audio score is 9.0/10 and thermals 8.0/10 (relative guesses from form factor and listed cooling cues — not lab noise measurements).

WARRANTY & SERVICE

Primebook lists a 1-year manufacturer warranty with walk-in service and limited pincode coverage. That is weaker than ASUS onsite/global language on the Chromebooks here, so check your city before you buy. Spec line: 1-year manufacturer (walk-in; limited pincodes). Warranty score 6.5/10.

PROS

Helio G99 + 8GB is the strongest everyday combo under ₹30k here
14.1" FHD IPS and listed ~14h / 60.3Wh battery
1080p60 webcam and dual mics for calls/classes

CONS AND THINGS TO KNOW

PrimeOS/Android — not full Windows desktop apps
128GB UFS fills up fast without microSD
Walk-in warranty with limited pincode coverage

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE

Closest alternatives in our ranking include the Primebook 2 Max (8GB/256GB) (#2, ₹29,989, score 8.2), the Primebook 2 Neo (8GB/128GB) (#3, ₹23,990, score 7.8) and the ASUS Chromebook CM1505 (#4, ₹28,990, score 7.7). Against Windows Celerons in this list, you trade away .exe software for a much stronger chip and screen. Against the Chromebooks, you gain Play Store flexibility and 8GB RAM, but you lose ChromeOS’s automatic multi-year update model. Overall score 8.3 places it at #1 of 10.

WHO SHOULD SKIP IT

Skip this laptop if you need a different OS than Android 15-based PrimeOS 3.0, if the RAM/storage line is too small for your files, or if you were hoping for a mid-range Intel Core i5 / Ryzen 5 Windows laptop — those sit above ₹30,000 on amazon.in today.

VALUE FOR MONEY

At ₹26,989 (MRP ₹39,990), value score 9.0/10. Weigh OS fit first, then screen and RAM. Prices move during sales — recheck amazon.in before you pay.

VERDICT

Buy the Primebook 2 Pro (8GB/128GB) if it matches your OS needs and you want our #1 ranked option under ₹30,000. Skip it if the cons above block your workflow. Check the live price and stock before buying.
