Want built-in GPS and a metal body in one watch under ₹5,000? The realme Watch 5 has independent five-system GPS, a compass, NFC, a 1.97-inch AMOLED and a metallic unibody, with a claimed 16 days of battery. It was ₹4,589 on amazon.in when we checked (MRP ₹7,999), with 4.3★ from 57 ratings and 100+ bought in the past month. It ranks #2 in our Best Smartwatches Under ₹5,000 list with an overall score of 7.8/10.
WHO IT'S FOR
People who want an outdoor-ready watch that also looks premium on the wrist: GPS for walks and runs, a compass for treks, and a metal case for the office. Our colour checked was Titanium Black (model RMW2501). It is sold by The Pop Market and shipped by Amazon.
DISPLAY
A 1.97-inch AMOLED at 390×450 pixels, 60 Hz, up to 600 nits, with Always-On Display and a flat glass cover (Panda Glass, per HT Tech and Gizmochina). It is big and clear, but the resolution is a step below the Redmi Watch 5 Lite's 410×502. Amazon's spec table lists the resolution as "1.97 inches", so the pixel count comes from realme's launch details. Score: 8.0/10.
BATTERY LIFE
A 460 mAh battery rated for up to 16 days of standard use, 20 days in Light Mode and about 6 days with Always-On Display, per realme and the Amazon listing. That is second only to the Redmi Watch 5 Lite here. Score: 9.0/10.
HEALTH SENSORS
Heart rate, SpO2, sleep, stress and menstrual cycle tracking, plus three breathing-training modes. Launch coverage (HT Tech, Gizmochina) also mentions VO2 Max estimation. There is also a Game Guardian mode that keeps an eye on you during long gaming sessions. Like every watch at this price, the heart-rate, SpO2 and stress readings are best used to spot trends, not as medical measurements. Score: 7.5/10.
FITNESS AND SPORTS MODES
108 sports modes with auto workout detection, guided workouts and stretching routines, per realme's launch details. That is fewer than the Redmi Watch 5 Lite's 150+, but plenty for most people. Score: 8.0/10.
GPS
Independent GPS supporting five satellite systems, so routes, distance and pace are recorded without your phone. Add the built-in compass and it is the most outdoor-friendly watch in this list. Score: 9.0/10.
BLUETOOTH CALLING
HD Bluetooth calling with a honeycomb speaker grille, plus an unusual Bluetooth intercom feature for talking watch-to-watch. NFC is listed too, along with offline music storage and Bluetooth music output on the Amazon page. NFC tools vary by phone and region, so do not expect tap-to-pay. Score: 8.0/10.
BUILD AND WATER RESISTANCE
A metallic unibody with an aluminium-alloy functional crown, removable 22 mm straps and IP68 dust and water resistance. IP68 is fine for rain and sweat, but it is not a swim rating like the Redmi's 5ATM. Amazon lists the weight as 90 g, which looks like the packed weight. Amazon also lists the band material as "Titanium", which appears to come from the colour name "Titanium Black". Score: 8.0/10.
COMPANION APP
It pairs with the realme Link app, which holds your workouts, health data and 300+ watch faces. It works, but it is not as polished as Xiaomi's Mi Fitness. Score: 7.0/10.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
Use Light Mode on long trips to stretch the battery towards 20 days. Calibrate the compass before a trek. Start GPS workouts outdoors and wait for a lock.

HOW IT COMPARES AT THIS PRICE
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite (₹3,699) also has five-system GPS, a longer 18-day claim and 5ATM swim-proofing, and costs about ₹900 less, but has a plastic frame and no compass or NFC. The Noise ColorFit Ultra 4 (₹4,999) has a metal body too, but no GPS and about 7 days of battery.
VALUE FOR MONEY
The hardware is excellent for the money, but the thin rating history and a price above launch MRP hold it back: 6.0/10.
VERDICT
The realme Watch 5 is the best premium-feeling GPS watch under ₹5,000. Buy it for the GPS, compass, metal body and long battery. If you want the safer, cheaper bet with thousands of reviews, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite is still our #1.
