WHO IT'S FOR

People who want a classic round watch that looks good at work and gives deeper health insights than the usual heart-rate-and-SpO2 set. If you like to set your own photos or short videos as the watch face, this is the one. Our colour checked was Midnight Black.

DISPLAY

A 1.51-inch round AMOLED with 2.5D curved glass and wake gesture. boAt's support page and launch reports list 466×466 pixels, while Amazon's spec table says 390×390; we went with boAt's figure. Brightness is 600 nits per Amazon and FoneArena, 550 nits per one news report. You can set a 3–5 second video from your gallery as the watch face. Score: 8.0/10.

BATTERY LIFE

A 300 mAh battery. Amazon and boAt's launch material say up to 7 days (about 3 days with Bluetooth calling), but boAt's own support page says up to 5 days of working time and 2 weeks standby. We scored the lower figure. The ASAP Charge fills it in about 45 minutes, the fastest full charge in this list. Score: 5.5/10.

HEALTH SENSORS

The widest health set here: heart rate, SpO2, stress, sleep, HRV (heart rate variability), VO2 Max insights, menstrual health and guided breathing. HRV and VO2 Max are rare at this price and give a better picture of recovery and fitness over time. Like every watch at this price, the heart-rate, SpO2 and stress readings are best used to spot trends, not as medical measurements. Score: 8.5/10.

FITNESS AND SPORTS MODES

100+ sports modes with auto-activity detection for walking and running. You can push extra workouts to the watch from the app. Score: 7.5/10.

GPS

Amazon's spec table says "GPS: yes", but boAt's spec sheet lists only heart-rate and SpO2 sensors, and the manual asks you to keep your phone's GPS on for the app. We treat it as having no built-in GPS. There is no built-in GPS, so distance on walks and runs comes from the motion sensor (or your phone's GPS through the app), not from satellites in the watch. None of the ten watches in our list has built-in GPS at this price; the cheapest GPS watches we found on Amazon cost about ₹3,700, so every pick gets the same low GPS score. Score: 2.0/10.

BLUETOOTH CALLING

Bluetooth 5.3 calling with an HD speaker and mic, a dial pad, up to 30 saved contacts, call history and quick replies. There is also an emergency SOS alert, find-my-phone and a voice assistant. Score: 8.0/10.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

Wear the watch snugly during sleep if you want useful HRV readings. Keep video watch faces for special days; animated faces use more battery. Top up for 15–20 minutes while you shower and it will last the day.

The boAt Chrome Horizon is the best health-tracking pick under ₹3,000. Buy it for the round metal look and the HRV and VO2 Max insights. If battery life matters more, the Redmi Watch Move or boAt Storm Call 4 last far longer.
